The client was looking for a fully integrated Savant home automation system complete with multiple zones of audio, local video systems, Lutron QS whole-house lighting, custom Fiber-Optic lighting control, HVAC control, Lutron Sivoia-QS motorized roller shades, generator control, pond-water motion jet control, security system monitoring and control, and motion activated video surveillance cameras.
The home is located on a 142-acre property that backs up to a nature preserve. They wanted to use the cameras not only for security purposes, but also to be alerted of an animal’s presence.
Being able to control their home from mobile devices was a must-have for our clients, especially for remote control when they plan to travel. These very tech savvy clients planned to use the Savant system to its full potential by integrating as much control as physically possible.

NYC Brownstone
New York City Brownstone

Our client purchased a 5-story townhouse in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village as well as a smaller townhouse that is situationed on the other side of their courtyard. The smaller home serves as a guest house as well as a family hang-out location separate from the main house. The two homes are separated by a courtyard and are connected via an underground passage which houses the wine tasting area, pilates room and playroom. Due to the size of the project, the client wanted a control system that was easy to use and could provide control of two distinct homes from one user interface. We provided a Savant integrated control system providing control of the audio, video, lighting, motorized window treatments, HVAC, security cameras and security system monitoring.
Because the client liked the ergonomics of the Universal Remote Controls we customized them to be integrated with the Savant system. This allows for control of not only the video sources, but also lighting control and shades. The client also uses their iPads to control the audio, video, lighting, motorized window treatments, HVAC, security cameras and security system monitoring using the Savant App.
Our client purchased a NYC brownstone and an adjacent mini-brownstone. The mini brownstone is accessible via the conjoining couryard or the underground hallway connecting the two buildings. The mini brownstone is primarily a guest house for when out of state family and friends visit but the top floor is the game room with a pool/ping pong table, a bar and a poker table. It is equipped with 4 televisions, 4 separate satellite receivers, a BluRay player, and a video matrix switcher which allows for the viewing of 4 separate programs or sporting events at once. We created a custom user interface through Savant that is easy and intuitive to operate. This user interface provides the user with the ability to control all of the equipment from one user interface. With everything connected via a matrix switcher, the clients can choose to view the same program on all 4 televisions, one program on each television or any combination of programs they choose. They can also control the volume of each television individually through the television speakers or can choose to listen to one video source through the in-ceiling speakers.

Upper East Side, NYC
Upper East Side, NYC

Our clients purchased a townhouse on the upper east side of Manhattan and embarked on a project to fully restore the grandeur and elegance of a time past. Our clients requested that we install an integrated control system complete with a fully equipped media room. We installed a Crestron integrated control system to give them control of their audio & video systems, lights, motorized window treatments, and security camera system. We also installed a Pakedge K63 network with Ruckus access points and a Panasonic phone system throughout the home as well.
The clients requested that the electronic system be as invisible and discrete as possible in the formal rooms, so as not to disturb the classic feeling of their home. To accomplish this we installed Triad DS300 invisible speakers in the Entry Hall, Stair Hall, Dining Room, Living Room Sitting Area, and Master Bedroom. We placed a minimum amount of touch screens throughout these areas and provided the clients with extra iOS devices on table docking stations to control their system.
To maintain a classic old world esthetic, Forbes & Lomax wall controls were used to control the Crestron lighting control system throughout the residence. Because of the limited functions available from the Forbes & Lomax controls, we provided detailed lighting control of all rooms through Crestron touch screen interfaces and iPads. Integration of these technologies was time consuming and complicated, because the Forbes & Lomax is an analog control system and the Crestron system is digital. However, we were able to make it work and the client was thrilled.
This media room is a special cozy place on the ground floor of a NYC townhouse. For optimal sound quality, we installed two B&W 804 Diamond floor standing speakers for the front left and right channel surround sound; one B&W HTM4 Diamond for the center channel surround sound; two B&W CCM-663 flush mounted speakers for the rear left and right channel surround sound, and a B&W active closed-box subwoofer. The current video display is a 75” Samsung LED flat panel display. However, the room is pre-wired and configured for a future video projector and screen. We are controlling the home theater with a Crestron MTX-3 hand held remote control.
